Why JavaServer Faces?
Have you ever wondered why developing browser applications is not more like developing desktop applications?
Does your J2EE application team spend too much time on low-level user interface and "plumbing" code and not enough time on application and business logic?
Have you looked at existing J2EE application frameworks and concluded the benefits could not justify the steep learning curve and lock-in commitment?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, JavaServer Faces and Simplica's ECruiser® Software may be just the right thing for you.
JavaServer Faces - J2EE Made Easy
J2EE is well-recognized for its power, robustness and enterprise-class capabilities. But let's face it, J2EE is not as easy as it could be - particularly for web applications. That's why recently the leading J2EE technology companies - including BEA, Borland, IBM, IONA, HP, Macromedia, Oracle, Sun and many others - joined together through the Java Community Process to create the groundbreaking JavaServer Faces specification.
In a nutshell, JavaServer Faces (JSF) makes reusable user interface components (like those found in desktop development environments) a reality in the HTML world. There is a basic set of components provided by the specification and it is expected that many more will be provided by third parties.
JavaServer Faces also provides a standard browser-to-server communication model (so developers don't have to write their own control code) as well as support for non-HTML clients, internationalization features and much more.
