Hi

Does Ecruiser Suite v1.1.3 beta work OK with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 ? or do you specify a higher version as a minimum ?

We are seeing some javascript errors in IE 5.5 at work (to do with "this.domName.nodeName" from memory; I'm at home now). I've no idea what file it's in, just I'm fairly sure its not in our own code. We don't see the errors in Firefox. Unfortunately the client will not be upgrading IE any time soon.

Thanks
Matt West.

Just to precise, the error text is
Error: 'this.domNode.nodeName' is null or not an object

On your site the only information about requirements I have found is here:
http://www.simplica.com/menu.htm
"Browser Compatibility Features
* Works on Internet Explorer, Mozilla (including Firefox), Netscape, Opera and more."
But it does not specify which versions of Internet Explorer does it support.

So, do you support IE5.5?

I see another problem as well under IE5.5:
Error: 'ec' is undefined

As I see ec variable is initialised in generated HTML file in separate JS:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="xxx.jsp?ec_resp=yyy">

and later is accessed by inline script:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">ec.script.executeWhen("menubarLoaded", function(){new [...]

Seems like some race condition problem as this latter line generates an error that ec variable is undefined.

Yes, that is it. The javascript dialog box shows 3 times when the user clicks in a disabled text field.

The ECruiser Suite v1.1.3 was tested with IE 6.0 and 7.0, and not with IE 5.5. You can find informations about supported browsers and servers at http://www.simplica.com/learn.htm ECrusier Getting Started Guide.
